Hengrove

Hengrove and Whitchurch is a suburb and council ward of Bristol in south-west England. The area is home to the long-disused Whitchurch Airport. Now grassed over, this site is partly large open space, much loved by dog walkers and kite flyers alike and partly redeveloped into the largest urban regeneration site in Bristol. Hengrove Park is the location of the new Leisure Centre, South Bristol Community Hospital and Skills Academy.

A Neighbourhood Partnership has been established, as well as a forum to enable residents to play an active role in the running and ongoing development of their neighbourhood. The partnership is made up of residents, councilors and representatives from businesses and community groups local to Hengrove, Whitchurch and Stockwood Wards.

'We seriously deserve better here in Hengrove and Whitchurch, something that is iconic, stimulating, reflective and involves each and every one of us. The opportunity is now, at a local level, to move forward and engage with these public art commissions by international artists.' – Ray Andrews, Hengrove resident

Future Perfect is commissioned by Bristol City Council and is the first public art programme to be funded through a Neighbourhood Partnership in which governance is extended to members of the Hengrove community. Contact   Legal
